Accessing Quality Health Care

Every American deserves access to reliable, affordable and high-quality health care. Unfortunately, the national debate has focused on universal coverage—putting an insurance card in everyone’s hand—rather than on actually improving our health and well-being.

The American people don’t just need insurance cards. We need patient-focused health care that provides more freedom, choice and control. We need health care that expands coverage, not bureaucratic power. And we need health care that promotes genuine quality and innovation while lowering costs.

None of this will happen through a one-size-fits-all health care reform run by bureaucrats in Washington. Instead, we must emphasize federal and state structural reforms tailored to each unique patient.  Only then can America achieve better health at lower costs for more people.
