Freedom Partners Applauds Trump Administration for Long-Overdue Permitting of Keystone XL Pipeline

Post by Freedom Partners

Arlington, VA – Today, the Trump administration issued a permit authorizing the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, a decision that will increase America’s supply of affordable energy and help create thousands of new jobs. This would be the largest pipeline currently underway in the Unites States, and it would be privately financed.

For far too long, the Obama administration stood in the way of this project despite their own State Department’s review finding it would have a negligible impact on the climate. Freedom Partners applauds President Trump for taking swift action to reverse President Obama’s indefensible policy of political obstruction and clear the federal red tape preventing the construction of this pipeline.

Freedom Partners Vice President of Policy Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

“After years of needless delay and obstruction, we applaud the Trump administration for finally green-lighting the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. The Obama administration’s senseless opposition to this pipeline was one of the starkest examples of putting partisan politics ahead of jobs and the economy. It’s encouraging to see the Trump administration is putting American jobs before politics.”

Although the Trump Administration approved the project, Nebraska state officials still have to approve the pipeline’s route through the state.
