There’s Nothing Free-Market About Corporate Welfare

Post by Derek Yale

Arlington, VA — On Friday morning, Rep. Stephen Fincher filed a discharge petition in order to bring an Export-Import Bank reauthorization bill to the House floor.

The Ex-Im Bank provides billions of dollars in subsidies to some of the world’s most politically connected corporations—and does so at the expense of American businesses and hardworking taxpayers.

Freedom Partners Spokesman James Davis Issued The Following Statement:

“There is nothing free-market about taking extraordinary measures to revive billions of dollars in corporate welfare. Republicans who supported this discharge petition sent a clear message: padding the pockets of the world’s largest corporations is more important than protecting the hard-earned money of their constituents.”
