Backroom Deal Could Cost Taxpayers Millions In FAA Bill
Post by Derek Yale
Arlington, VA – Lawmakers are now using a backroom deal made six months ago as an excuse to load-up an unrelated Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization bill, currently making its way through Congress, with millions in taxpayer giveaways to well-connected “green” corporations.
Freedom Partners Senior Policy Advisor Andy Koenig Issued The Following Statement:
“Congress’ bad deal brokered behind closed doors shouldn’t become bad law. This is exactly why taxpayers don’t trust Washington politicians. We shouldn’t prop up large special interests through a corporate welfare scheme that benefits the wealthy and politically-connected at the expense of hardworking taxpayers. These backroom deals that put lobbyists and special interests first is another reason to eliminate these unfair handouts across the board and get to work on real tax reform.”
