Bold Leadership for a Simpler, Fairer Tax Code
Post by Freedom Partners
Arlington, VA – To mark 31-years after the 1986 tax reform package President Ronald Reagan signed into law, House Ways & Means Chairman Kevin Brady, joined by Representatives Peter Roskam, David Schweikert and Carlos Curbelo, delivered a speech at the Reagan Ranch reflecting on that historic accomplishment and reaffirming their commitment to those same principles of simplicity and fairness in reforming the tax code.
Freedom Partners spokesman Bill Riggs issued the following statement:
“Restoring fairness to our tax code will require bold leadership in Washington that rejects the failed status quo and puts Americans first. That means getting rid of the carve outs for well-connected special interests and ensuring taxpayers keep more of their hard-earned money.
“It was encouraging to hear members of the House Ways & Means Committee express their commitment to a fairer, simpler and flatter tax code that un-rigs the economy and expands opportunity for all Americans. We urge all members of Congress to join them in this effort and unite behind these principles.”
Freedom Partners will continue to promote simplicity and fairness as necessary objectives in tax reform that will help create jobs, increase wages and provide greater financial security for all Americans.
