Freedom Partners Blasts Export-Import Bank’s Proposed Revival

Post by Freedom Partners

Arlington, VA – In the wake of a new push by Senate Democrats to kick-start the Export-Import Bank, Freedom Partners today renewed its call to abolish the agency as the epitome of corporate welfare.

Freedom Partners Executive Vice President Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

“It’s hard to top the Export-Import Bank as an example of corporate welfare. Spending taxpayer dollars to aid huge corporations in this way undermines competition, job creation and a level playing field. Congress should instead consider new ways to improve U.S. competitiveness, such as rooting out unnecessary federal spending. We will continue to aggressively oppose any effort to support or expand this agency.”

Background:

Freedom Partners has led a campaign in opposition to the Export-Import Bank as a form of corporate welfare that undermined U.S. competitiveness and jobs.
