Freedom Partners Lauds Trump Spending Cut Challenge, Urges More

Post by Freedom Partners

Arlington, VA – Freedom Partners today commended President Trump’s request that his administration’s cabinet members  cut their respective department budgets by 5% next year. The group urged the president and Congress to go even further in reducing Washington’s reckless spending.

Freedom Partners Executive Vice President Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

“President Trump’s request for his cabinet members to cut 5 percent from their budgets is an excellent step, but there is more he and Congress must do to show they are serious about spending reform. A modest, but important start would be to end all costly federal corporate welfare programs. Take for example the taxpayer handouts Congress delivers to electric vehicle drivers at the cost of ordinary Americans. We commend the president for taking decisive action on this issue and urge him to continue finding ways to stop Washington’s irresponsible spending.”
