Freedom Partners Praises G-20 Announcement to Suspend 2019 Tariff Increases

Post by Freedom Partners

Arlington, Va. – Freedom Partners today welcomed news, according to Politico, that Presidents Trump and Xi agreed to abate further tariffs as they seek agreement to lower barriers to trade between the two nations.

Freedom Partners Executive Vice President Nathan Nascimento issued the following statement:

Tariffs are taxes on our consumers and producers that make us poorer. We commend the president for delaying future tariff increases on Chinese products during the upcoming trade talks.

“We hope negotiations will ultimately eliminate all unjust barriers to trade on both sides. China should adopt reasonable measures to end intellectual property theft and forced technology transfers and curtail state-owned enterprises. That’s the surest path to prosperity for both nations.”
