Freedom Partners Applauds House Resolution Opposing National Energy Tax
Post by Derek Yale
Arlington, VA – The House of Representatives today agreed to a resolution sponsored by Majority Whip Steve Scalise opposing attempts in impose harmful carbon tax proposals, which would be detrimental to the United States economy and saddle middle-class Americans with higher energy costs.
Freedom Partners Senior Policy Advisor Andy Koenig issued the following statement:
“The House should be applauded for asserting its opposition to a carbon tax, which will be especially harmful to low-income families that spend a higher percentage of their incomes on energy costs. With thousands of jobs and higher costs for consumers at stake, any proposals that will make driving a car, paying the monthly utility bill, and running a business more expensive should be flatly rejected.”
